    CLARINET KLEZMER CONCERTO | PREMIERE
    The Detroit Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Andrew Litton will give the premiere performance of the Clarinet Klezmer Concerto, by Wlad Marhulets. The featured clarinet soloist is David Krakauer, one of the foremost musicians of the vital new wave of klezmer. The concerts will take place at the Orchestra Hall in Detroit on December 10th - 13th, 2009.

    STRING QUARTET "DYBBUK" | PREMIERE
    The string quartet Dybbuk was written for the New York based "J.A.C.K." quartet. The piece is inspired by Jewish folklore, in which a Dybbuk is a malicious possessing spirit, believed to be the dislocated soul of a dead person. The piece depicts two aspects of Dybbuk - its wild and aggressive nature, as well as its memories from the past life full of suffering and tears. The premiere is going to take place in Paul Hall, November 30th at 8:00pm.

    VIOLIN SONATA AT Charles E. Gamper Festival
    The Gamper Festival presents the works of contemporary American composers, including the festival's guest composers, composers-in-residence, and top participants. Wlad's sonata for violin and piano will be performed by Justyna Jara (violin) and EunAe Lee (piano). The 2009 Gamper Festival Program contains also several works by Pulitzer prize winning composer George Crumb, including one world premiere piece.

    ARIA AND TOCCATA FOR CELLO AND PIANO | premiere
    The piece has been written specially for SungChan Chang, a Wlad's friend who is going to give his solo recital. There are going to be two performances at Morse Recital Hall (60 Lincoln Center Plaza, New York): February 17th and 27th. Featured performers: SungChan Chang (cello), Anna Shelest (prepared piano)
  • Violin Sonata

    VIOLIN SONATA AT PAUL HALL
    Sonata for Violin and Piano is going to be performed at the Juilliard's Paul Hall by Justyna Jara (violin) and Anna Shelest (piano). The concert is going to take place on Novermber 24th.
