    Wlad wins the ASCAPLUS Award and the Leonard Bernstein Award
    Wlad wins two prestigious awards: The ASCAPLUS Award for the premiere performances of Concerto for Klezmer Clarinet, as well as the ASCAP Foundation Leonard Berstein Award, which will be presented to Wlad during the Award Ceremony by Jamie Bernstein, Leonard's daughter.

    Klezmer Concerto in Lyon, France
    Leonard Slatkin and L'Orchestre National de Lyon announce the performances of Wlad's Klezmer Clarinet Concerto in Summer 2012. David Krakauer, an internationally acclaimed virtuoso and one of the world's leading Klezmer musicians, is playing the clarinet part. The performances are to take place in Auditorium de Lyon on June 21st, 22nd, and 23rd of 2012.

    WLAD COMMISSIONED TO WRITE ORATORIO
    Wlad has been commissioned by the foundation "Borderland" (Poland, Sejny) to compose an oratorio. The piece is a celebration of the 100th anniversary of Czeslaw Milosz - one the greatest Polish writers, as well as the approaching Polish presidency in the European Union. The oratorio is to be premiered on June 30th 2011 in Sejny.

    WLAD RECEIVES A COMMISSION FROM MARINA BARANOVA
    An internationally acclaimed pianist Marina Baranova commissions Wlad to write a piano concerto. The piece is to be premiered in 2011. More information will be availabe soon. Marina Baranova is a winner of multiple major international competitions. She performed as a soloist on the most renowned stages of Europe and Asia wish such ensembles as the Slaska Philharmony Orchestra, Bydgoszcz Radio Philharmony Orchestra, Bacau Philharmony Orchestra, Jerusalem Strings and others.     WLAD WINS THE ASCAP MORTON GOULD AWARD 2010
    Wlad Marhulets wins the ASCAP Morton Gould Award 2010. Morton Gould was President of ASCAP and The ASCAP Foundation from 1986-1994. He was a distinguished and versatile composer, and the recipient of the Pulitzer Prize. ASCAP honors Morton Gould's lifelong commitment to nurturing young creators by naming the annual Young Composer Awards in his memory.

    CLARINET KLEZMER CONCERTO | PREMIERE
    The Detroit Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Andrew Litton will give the premiere performance of the Clarinet Klezmer Concerto, by Wlad Marhulets. The featured clarinet soloist is David Krakauer, one of the foremost musicians of the vital new wave of klezmer. The concerts will take place at the Orchestra Hall in Detroit on December 10th - 13th, 2009.
